在近期,上海燎原雙語學(xué)校國際課程班完成了各學(xué)科期中評(píng)估課業(yè)展示,同時(shí)秋季選修課也如火如荼的開展起來。在小學(xué)年級(jí),G2年級(jí)的第二單元“貿(mào)易集市”為學(xué)生們提供了理解“交換制”的機(jī)會(huì),歡迎了解近期的校內(nèi)動(dòng)態(tài)。

國際課程班的期中評(píng)估順利結(jié)束。下面就跟隨筆者了解下語言習(xí)得、社會(huì)科學(xué)、數(shù)學(xué)、文學(xué)等學(xué)科的期中評(píng)估內(nèi)容。

學(xué)科一:外語(ESL)

10年級(jí)C班的期中評(píng)估項(xiàng)目貼近學(xué)生生活。描述和分析綜藝節(jié)目的成功原因,合作創(chuàng)作一個(gè)嶄新的綜藝節(jié)目,聽上去就很有趣和富有創(chuàng)意。

學(xué)科老師Thalia的點(diǎn)評(píng)如下:

Eric、Jeffrey、Jackson這組學(xué)生化身綜藝節(jié)目制作人,構(gòu)想了一檔名為《明星經(jīng)紀(jì)人》的節(jié)目。他們非常有創(chuàng)造力,很有想法。這檔節(jié)目深度聚焦于一個(gè)普通人都很向往但卻了解很少的職業(yè)。

這些制作人不僅是想要打造一檔原創(chuàng)節(jié)目,更是想要向大眾介紹明星經(jīng)紀(jì)人這一職業(yè),將他們的**和生活做多方位的呈現(xiàn),這將會(huì)有助于消除公眾對(duì)于這一職業(yè)的誤解。我認(rèn)為這一出發(fā)點(diǎn)是非常有意義的。

這檔節(jié)目的概念非常具有吸引力。他們的海報(bào)很引人注目,色彩豐富,*括了一些必要的細(xì)節(jié)部分,例如對(duì)于節(jié)目?jī)?nèi)容、類型、贊助商等方面的介紹。

在完成這一期中任務(wù)的過程中,學(xué)生們展示了自己的創(chuàng)造力,和對(duì)社會(huì)的責(zé)任感以及關(guān)愛。

10-3Eric, Jeffrey, Jackson. This group of students planned a variety show called “Star Agent” as producers. They are really creative and innovative.

The show is focused on a profession that fascinates ordinary people a lot but is relatively little known to the public at large.

It is great that the aim of their project is not only proposing an original show but also introducing acareer (star agent) and trying to reveal to the public more details about their work and life, which can dispel the public’s misunderstandings of star agents.I consider it very meaningful. Their conception is appealing.

The poster is attractive and colorful, containing required details such as content, type, and sponsor. The students showed their creativity, responsibility, and care for society in this project.

TimGloria Emma這組學(xué)生化身綜藝節(jié)目制作人,構(gòu)想了一檔名為《學(xué)校大逃脫》的節(jié)目。盡管市面上已經(jīng)有逃脫類節(jié)目的存在,這組制作人依然展現(xiàn)了他們的創(chuàng)新點(diǎn)。

他們的節(jié)目將取景于復(fù)旦大學(xué)太平洋金融學(xué)院,該地目前已被廢棄。根據(jù)主題選擇這一特定地點(diǎn)證明了這組學(xué)生檢索信息的能力,以及這檔節(jié)目的切實(shí)可行性。

10-3Tim, Gloria, Emma. This group of students planned a variety show called “Escape From School” as producers. Although there are existing escape shows, the group has their own innovations. The location of their show is Fudan University Pacific Financial College, which is an abandoned place already. This selection of location shows the students’ great research skills and the feasibility ofthe show. The poster is attractive and colorful, containing required details such as content, type, and sponsor. The students showed their creativity and team spirit in this project.

10年級(jí)D班的期中評(píng)估選擇面廣,發(fā)揮空間大。同學(xué)們模擬旅行社,開發(fā)“外國文化之旅”的旅游項(xiàng)目,需要綜合各學(xué)科的知識(shí),很過癮。

學(xué)科老師Phoebe對(duì)同學(xué)們的點(diǎn)評(píng)如下:

“本次ESL期中項(xiàng)目的主題為“外國文化之旅”。G10-4的同學(xué)們4人為一組,模擬成立了旅行社,并以該主題作為開業(yè)項(xiàng)目,設(shè)計(jì)完成了1份為期7-14天的詳細(xì)的外國出行計(jì)劃,*括旅行目的地的景點(diǎn)安排、推薦原因、出行方式、餐飲住宿、注意事項(xiàng)、個(gè)人費(fèi)用等,并進(jìn)行了旅行項(xiàng)目的宣講會(huì)。

通過本次項(xiàng)目,同學(xué)們提高了團(tuán)隊(duì)協(xié)作能力,信息搜集能力,以及實(shí)用的外國交通方式和住宿安排能力。每個(gè)組通過精心設(shè)計(jì),制作了新穎、美觀、內(nèi)容充實(shí)的全英Poster,作為旅行項(xiàng)目的宣傳海報(bào)。

每一位同學(xué)都參與了宣講會(huì),用流利的英語介紹和推薦自己旅行社的旅行項(xiàng)目,鍛煉了英語發(fā)音、演講等各方面能力。”

The theme of G10-4ESL midterm project is “A Foreign Cultural Landscape Travel Plan”.Students were divided into four groups and set up model tourism agencies separately. As their agency’s opening project to attract customers, they designed a detailed plan for travel that lasts 7–14 days, which includessight seeing arrangements, transportation methods, food, accommodations, and travel expenses per person. Through this project, students improved their ability forteamwork, information collection, and organization. Each group made a creativeand delicate poster as their promotional material. Each student practiced English pronunciation and speaking ability while taking part in a presentation to introduce and recommend their itinerary.

IEP班級(jí)的ESL期中評(píng)估把目光轉(zhuǎn)向了更多生活主題。同學(xué)們選擇一個(gè)主題內(nèi)容,例如教育、汽車、服裝、住房,描述這個(gè)主題的過去和現(xiàn)在,并預(yù)測(cè)未來發(fā)展趨勢(shì)。同學(xué)們有較多的自由去暢想未來。

Jennifer老師的點(diǎn)評(píng)如下:“同學(xué)們找出自己喜歡的生活話題,并聚焦到某個(gè)問題上,運(yùn)用所學(xué)的語法和詞匯來討論這一話題的過去、現(xiàn)在和將來,讓同學(xué)們認(rèn)識(shí)到英語的學(xué)習(xí)不僅僅是考試,而是運(yùn)用。”

This year, IEP students focused on life topics such as education, automobiles, fashion, and buildings.

As Jennifer said, “They were supposed to describe what happened in the past,what they look like now, and what will happen in the future. They will use the grammar and vocabulary for their project. The project aims to let them know that English is more than examinations. English is meant to be used.”

學(xué)科二:社會(huì)科學(xué)

9年級(jí)A班和B班的社會(huì)英語布置給同學(xué)們的期中評(píng)估是創(chuàng)造一個(gè)新的節(jié)日。在學(xué)習(xí)完節(jié)日的相關(guān)內(nèi)容后,同學(xué)們合作完成新節(jié)日的設(shè)計(jì)和組織,其中不乏出現(xiàn)了很好的創(chuàng)意。

Jennifer老師的點(diǎn)評(píng)如下:“這是社會(huì)英語每年都會(huì)做的項(xiàng)目,旨在讓同學(xué)們探究節(jié)日慶祝背后的意義,并發(fā)揮想象力,獨(dú)自制造一個(gè)慶祝節(jié)日,并列出組織這個(gè)活動(dòng)所需要的所有任務(wù),培養(yǎng)同學(xué)們組織能力、社交能力和協(xié)作能力。”

This year, Grade 9 students worked hard on their midterm project, which was about creating a new holiday. After learning about holidays, they were supposed tocome up with a brand new holiday and make a plan to celebrate it. There were alot of excellent ideas.

As Jennifer mentioned, “Students do the project every year. The purpose is to encourage them to inquire into the meanings of acelebration. They need to create a new holiday and list all of the tasks for acelebration. Students have the opportunity of developing their organizational skills, social skills, and collaboration skills.”

11年級(jí)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)科目的期中評(píng)估直接讓同學(xué)們?cè)O(shè)計(jì)一款產(chǎn)品。

學(xué)科老師Sage點(diǎn)評(píng)到:“這些海報(bào)是11年級(jí)的學(xué)生為經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)的期中項(xiàng)目而制作的。為了設(shè)計(jì)一款產(chǎn)品,學(xué)生們學(xué)著如何進(jìn)行市場(chǎng)調(diào)查,根據(jù)調(diào)查結(jié)果設(shè)計(jì)產(chǎn)品特色,并制作海報(bào)用以宣傳。學(xué)生們?cè)谶@個(gè)項(xiàng)目里成功地將經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)知識(shí)與現(xiàn)實(shí)世界起來,并且發(fā)揮出了非常出色的想象力和創(chuàng)造力。”

These posters were madeby G11 students for their midterm economics project.

In order to design aproduct, students learned how to do market research, design product features based on the results of research, and make posters for advertisement.

During this project, students successfully related knowledge of economics to the realworld and showed excellent imagination and creativity.

學(xué)科三:數(shù)學(xué)

在11年級(jí)的期中評(píng)估中,同學(xué)們要成立小組合作完成項(xiàng)目。老師會(huì)準(zhǔn)備5個(gè)項(xiàng)目選擇,供同學(xué)挑選自己感興趣的,目標(biāo)是讓同學(xué)們探究數(shù)學(xué)領(lǐng)域的問題。

5個(gè)項(xiàng)目分別是:幸存者偏差、最優(yōu)化、*含函數(shù)或方程的藝術(shù)作品、數(shù)學(xué)是被創(chuàng)造出來的還是被發(fā)現(xiàn)的、微積分的發(fā)展。

項(xiàng)目的目標(biāo)是讓同學(xué)們更深入理解數(shù)學(xué)的本質(zhì),培養(yǎng)自發(fā)提問的能力;提供給學(xué)生各種機(jī)會(huì)來了解數(shù)學(xué)的美、力量和實(shí)用價(jià)值,并讓學(xué)生們自信地展示他們?cè)跀?shù)學(xué)上的成長(zhǎng);鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生對(duì)技術(shù)(Geogebra)作為數(shù)學(xué)工具的發(fā)現(xiàn)、使用和欣賞。一些小組的海報(bào)完成的非常好。

During the mid-term assessment period, Grade 11 mathematics students did agroup project to explore the one of five topics that most interests them. Eachgroup project has produced a written poster that involved the investigation of anarea of mathematics.

The five topics were 1) survivorship bias, 2) optimization,3) artwork of functions or equations, 4) whether mathematics is invented ordiscovered, and 5) the development of calculus.

The purpose of the exploration wasto develop students’ personal insight into the nature of mathematics and developtheir ability to ask their own questions about mathematics; provide studentswith the opportunity to experience for themselves the beauty, power, andusefulness of mathematics; provide opportunities for students to show, with confidence, how they have developed mathematically; and encourage students todiscover, use, and appreciate the power of technology (Geogebra) as amathematical tool. Several groups have produced some fabulous posters.

學(xué)科四:文學(xué)

11年級(jí)的文學(xué)課讓同學(xué)們讀了《麥田里的守望者》,Owen老師給同學(xué)們提供了各種不同的項(xiàng)目選擇,他對(duì)11-2班的Tina和Am的期中作品記憶深刻。

以下是Owen老師的點(diǎn)評(píng):“從藝術(shù)作品角度來為Holden設(shè)計(jì)了一本拼貼本,受到了高度贊賞。正如Owen老師說道,兩位同學(xué)在期中評(píng)估中面臨的挑戰(zhàn)是如何從Holden的角度考慮,他會(huì)收集哪些素材做拼貼本。

她們制作的拼貼本設(shè)計(jì)精美,每份素材都與主人公有關(guān),并通過藝術(shù)加工,配以手繪圖和文字,分別做在不同的單頁上,并將這些單頁內(nèi)容放到了一只夢(mèng)幻般的散漫亮粉的藍(lán)色盒子里。

細(xì)心的她們還在盒子上寫了卡片,提醒翻閱者帶上手套,這說明了她們對(duì)自己作品的自豪。翻開這本拼貼本,Tina和Amy書寫了“回憶冊(cè)”,并標(biāo)明學(xué)校名稱,再用卡片寫出了小說中的人物。“紅色狩獵帽”醒目畫出來,再開始介紹人物關(guān)系。后面出現(xiàn)了紐約的內(nèi)容。

接下來是關(guān)于Edmont賓館的部分。她們富有智慧地運(yùn)用了藝術(shù)藝術(shù)道具來展示突出的錢*,Sunny從里面拿了5美金的內(nèi)容。同樣的機(jī)智也體現(xiàn)在了對(duì)于“煙”的相關(guān)內(nèi)容展示。后面的內(nèi)容還*括了旋轉(zhuǎn)木馬。

最后,在拼貼本里,我們看到了Holden躺在醫(yī)院病床上。這份期中項(xiàng)目,Tina和Amy為以后的所有學(xué)生建立了標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。她們所花的時(shí)間和努力值得肯定。這不僅僅是一份課業(yè),這是藝術(shù)!”

Tina and Amy chose tocreate Holden’s Scrapbook as their mid-term project for the Fall Semester. The challenge was to compile a scrapbook of memorabilia that Holden might have collected, or come across, during his travels throughout the novel The Catcherin the Rye.

All of the memorabilia is beautifully presented with captions whereit is introduced, how it relates to Holden, and the page which connects it tothe book. Well-written paragraphs explain each items’ significance. The projectwas presented in a glittery blue box with a ribbon tied around it. An envelope,telling you to put on the gloves inside, is included so as to handle the scrapbook carefully.

It is a sign that the students take pride in their work,and it shows. Upon opening the box, renderings of Tina and Amy rest under thetitle “Memorial Album”. The next entry is a tribute to Pencey Prep School and includes playing cards introducing all of the main characters that are found peppering the novel.

The ‘red hunting hat’ is displayed prominently on the following slide as mentions of it litter the text. After that, the slide navigates the interlocking relationships, primarily love interests between Holden, the girls he loves, and the other suitors.

Then, the ducks make their way into the scrapbook as the girls visit Central Park and craftily produce awrite-up hidden under the New York City skyline. Because the Edmont Hotel isfull of undesirables, a window has been created that needs opening to enterthat sordid world.

Again, a clever use of props is used in the form of a wallet protruding from the slide and Sunny is taking $5 out of it. Sally, who Holden wants to run away with is introduced on the next slide. There is a clever useof a prop on the following page as cigarettes are smoked throughout the novel.

A recreation of a carousel, with movable horses, adorns the next page. Lastly,we find Holden in his hospital bed, weaving tales from his bed. This mid-termproject that Tina and Amy handed in early set the bar for the rest of the students in the future.

The time and effort that went into this is noteworthy and much appreciated as it was more than just a class assignment; it is a work of art!

“4類27項(xiàng)”國際課程班豐富秋季選修課

新學(xué)期,燎原的選修課精彩紛呈,老師們和同學(xué)們各自創(chuàng)建了俱樂部,一起度過充實(shí)有意義的課外活動(dòng)時(shí)光。

Since the new school year, teachers and students at English Division has been doing a variety of electives and clubs. It’s awesome to see that they enjoy them every day.

藝術(shù)類:彩鉛、3D設(shè)計(jì)、樂隊(duì)、舞蹈團(tuán)、視頻制作、ACG動(dòng)漫研究、游戲與手工

STEM類:國際象棋、辦公自動(dòng)化軟件、天文、數(shù)學(xué)俱樂部

G2單元活動(dòng)舉辦校園集市啟迪學(xué)生理解“交換制”

“交換制對(duì)社區(qū)有益”,這是燎原雙語學(xué)校二年級(jí)學(xué)生正在進(jìn)行中的單元中心思想。以此理念為核心,學(xué)生們?cè)隗w育館內(nèi)舉辦了一場(chǎng)盛大的“校園集市”活動(dòng)。

校園集市

通過校園商店的開設(shè),評(píng)估學(xué)生在本單元的學(xué)習(xí)。學(xué)生會(huì)從學(xué)校或家中收集使用過的一些物品,并且給這些商品標(biāo)價(jià)并出售作為個(gè)人的任務(wù)。

他們以小組形式進(jìn)行分工合作,為校園商店的設(shè)計(jì)宣傳海報(bào)、學(xué)生會(huì)向?qū)W校中的其他班級(jí)做一個(gè)口頭式的廣告等等,最后他們會(huì)以小組的形式用適當(dāng)中英文來出售自己收集的物品。

“交流、傾聽、思考"在集市中,面對(duì)多變的環(huán)境,學(xué)生需要迅速做出反應(yīng),通過貨幣與物品的交換,幫助孩子們理解欲望與需求之間的和交換系統(tǒng)的組成部分等。

集市中,學(xué)生們自備20-30現(xiàn)金來進(jìn)行交易模擬,而最后義賣的盈利將統(tǒng)一捐贈(zèng)給公益機(jī)構(gòu)。根據(jù)現(xiàn)場(chǎng)實(shí)地觀察,本次集市“銷路”非常旺盛,許多物品一經(jīng)上市就迅速銷售一空。
