上海燎原雙語學校國際部是滑鐵盧數學競賽的積極參與者，有豐富的參賽經歷，碩果累累。2016年我校初試茅廬，三名同學榮獲滑鐵盧青少年數學競賽優異獎。2017年共有18位燎原學子在競賽中斬獲佳績。 我校將繼續參加今年四月份滑鐵盧大學舉辦的Fryer數學競賽(九年級)、Galois數學競賽(十年級)、Hypatia數學競賽(十一年級), 以及11月份的加拿大青少年數學競賽(Canadian Senior and Intermediate Mathematics Contests)。

Our school is an active participant in the mathematics competition of Waterloo, with rich experience and outstanding results. In 2016, three students won the Certificate of Distinction of (CSIMC). In 2017, a total of 18 students achieved great success in the competition. Our school will continue to participate in the Fryer Math Competition (Grade 9), the Galois Math Competition (Grade 10), the Hypatia Math Competition (Grade 11), and the Canadian Senior and Intermediate Mathematics Contests.

學校為學生們提供的類似競賽的平臺還很多，旨在幫助孩子從學習中找到樂趣，培養他們解決問題的能力，為學生創造更多的機會。希望燎原學子們能夠把握住每一次機會，朝著更高、更遠的目標而努力奮進!

Aiming to help students develop the pleasure of learning, cultivate their ability to solve problems, and create more opportunities for students, there are many similar competitions offered by the Liaoyuan. We hope that the students from Liaoyuan can take every opportunity and work hard toward higher and farther goals!

滑鐵盧數學競賽：滑鐵盧系列數學競賽是一個由加拿大名校滑鐵盧大學舉辦的覆蓋7年級至12年級的全系列數學競賽，是面向全世界高中生的加拿大官方數學競賽。該項競賽始于1963年, 累計有21萬名來自世界各地的學生參加過該比賽。成績出色的學生將被提名表揚并記錄入滑鐵盧大賽的記錄中。因其廣泛的影響以及嚴格的標準，在申請北美其他學校的理工科專業時，該成績也成了錄取和獎學金發放的重要參考標準之一。

The Waterloo Mathematics and Computing Contests is a full-scale math competition in the Grade 7 to Grade 12 organized by the University of Waterloo. It is the official Canadian mathematics competition for high school students all over the world. The competition began in 1962 and a total of 210,000 students from all over the world participated in the competition. Students with outstanding grades will be nominated for recognition and recorded in the records of the Waterloo Competition. Due to its wide-ranging influence and strict standards, when applying for science and engineering majors in universities in North America, this achievement has become one of the important references for admission and scholarship.
