每逢周四下午，光華美高的大教室里都會傳來一陣陣熱烈的歡呼聲，走近一看，原來是一個個朝氣蓬勃的同學正在臺上慷慨激昂地發表演講。那一刻，演講者就是臺上的王者，就是全校最受矚目的焦點。2019年4月18日，第六期英語公眾演講如期而至，選手分別是來自十年級的戴嘉瑞、陳路迦、戴奕晨和付之裔，本期的話題十分豐富，涉及心理學、生態學和社會學等領域。臺上一分鐘，臺下十年功。在演講之前，每位同學都做了充足的準備，接下來讓我們一起欣賞本期的精彩演講。

英語公眾演講

戴同學 The Interpretation of Dreams

戴同學的演講圍繞夢的解析展開，她先介紹了夢的形成原理，提到了著名心理學家弗洛伊德的心理學著作——《夢的解析》，弗洛伊德認為夢的實質是欲望的隱形表達。人們經常會做形形色色的夢，不同的夢境都有不同的寓意。戴同學以自殺和墜落的夢境為例，仔細分析了這兩種夢境的起因和應對措施。最后，她還解答了很多人心中的一個小困惑——為什么我們常常會忘記自己做的夢?

The Interpretation of Dreams is one of the most famous book describing dreams. The writer of this book is Freud. He said this sentence: The essence of dream is the symbolic satisfaction of desire; in dreams, this desire is sometimes direct, sometimes indirect, and sometimes in the opposite form. This may explain why you have unexpected dreams, which may be a need or desire in your subconscious mind. You haven’t noticed it, but your dreams reflect your desires.2

戴同學 Self-recognition

戴同學以個體的自我認知為主題展開演講。最近，有很多人對自己的表現不滿，其實這是一個非常常見的現象。一個人如果努力追求一個光明的未來，一個不斷的自我糾正和自我認識的過程是必不可少的。人們有很多種方式來實現良好的自我認知，比如他人的評價和自我的反省，這兩種方式都能讓人擁有正確的自我認知。此外，他還指出，全面了解自身性格和樹立明確的人生目標對自我發展是很有幫助的。

Let me give you some faithful suggestions. It is quite important to have a deep understanding of your own characteristics so that you can deal with problems in your favorite ways. That will be awesome. Also, a definite goal is really the major in your future life. There are countless people who are doing a job that is lack of interests and passions for them. As a result, their lives are painful and dim. Thus, if you are doing something suffering and make you less interesting. Just change to a more attractive one, remember, change will never be late.3

陳同學 Environmental Protection

環境保護是全球關注的熱門問題，陳同學以此為切入點，指出工業的高度發展導致生態環境正以飛快的速度被破壞。近些年，全球氣候變暖，各地的高溫記錄經常被打破。若此形勢繼續惡化，沿海城市很有可能面臨著被淹沒的風險，北極熊也有可能失去賴以生存的家園。作為地球的守護者，我們必須立刻行動起來，去保護和捍衛我們的家園。要記住，我們只有一個地球!

After the Industry Revolution, because the negative effects of highly developed industry were not anticipated and prevention was not favorable, the environment has been destroyed at very fast speed. It can be summarized by ten main points: 1. Climate warming 2. Ozone layer destruction 3. Biodiversity reduction 4. Acid rain spread 5. Forest collapse 6. Desertification 7. Air pollution 8. Water pollution 9. Marine pollution 10. Solid waste pollution. 4

付同學 Apple

付同學以“蘋果”為話題展開演講。蘋果，一種普通常見的水果，細想起來卻又不那么簡單。一個小小的蘋果，能引發牛頓的遐想，成為發現重力的故事中不可缺少的一部分。在演講中，付同學大膽設想，假設自己就是當年樹下休息的牛頓，那歷史會不會是另一番模樣呢，以此引出“思考”對于人類的重要性，也引發了聽眾對“思考”的重新理解和認識。

Let’s imagine I was a person of the same age as Newton. If I were the man slept under the tree, then an apple fell off and hit on my head. I was forced to wake up surely. Guess what I saw? Oh, it was a handsome apple! What would I do? I think I ate the apple and went back to sleep. Another apple fell on my head an hour later. I woke up again and found it was still an apple, so I ate the apple again and went back to sleep once more. Again, a bigger apple fell down on my head. Oh Jesus, I could not even sleep! I woke up angrily and threw all the apple under the tree away, disregarding how handsome the apple was. Unfortunately, the apple hit Newton who set under another tree. You know what, his name is written in the text book once again.

最后，經過激烈的角逐，戴奕晨同學憑借著穩健的臺風和出色的發揮拿下了本場演講的**名。當然，其他三位同學成績也十分優異。古人云：紙上得來終覺淺，絕知此事要躬行。我們堅信，只有給學生更多實踐的表現機會和空間，只有讓他們面對更多的挑戰，他們才能勇敢地突破自我，超越自我，從而取得質的飛躍。
