2019年6月13日，光華美高迎來了本學期第十三場英語公眾演講活動。本場共五位同學參與演講，上場之前，各位選手們早已躍躍欲試，迫不及待地登臺一展風采。

許同學 Global Warming

**位出場的是許同學，他講述了當今世界面臨的一種氣候問題——全球變暖。首先，他指出煤和石油的大量使用以及森林的破壞是氣候變暖的主要原因。接著，他繼續說明氣溫上升會引發全球海平面上升的問題，沿海地區會備受威脅，有些城市甚至會永遠消失。最后，他強調環保問題不僅是國家的責任，同時也是每個人應盡的職責。從現在開始，我們要環保出行，保護綠植，共同呵護我們的地球家園。

More and more carbon dioxide from burning the coal and oil is discharged into the air every year. The carbon dioxide can absorb the heat from the earth. The more carbon dioxide in the air, the more heat it will absorb, and the warmer the earth will be. Since the industrial revolution, coal and fossil oil have begun wildly used. However, that kind of energy will produce plenty of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor and so on. That’s may be one of the reasons causes the earth to be warmer. Ruining the forest is also accelerating the process of the global warming. If we still turn a blind eye to it, we and our offspring will be punished by nature.

楊同學 Simple History of Physics

第二位出場的是楊同學，他系統介紹了物理學的發展簡史。作為世界上最早的物理學家之一，阿基米德創造了力學和靜水學的科學。約1800年后，伽利略的一系列研究發現為牛頓的理論體系奠定了基礎。之后，牛頓發現了三個運動定律，愛因斯坦提出了廣義相對論和狹義相對論，普朗克、玻爾、海森堡等學者共同研究出了量子力學。正是這些偉大科學家孜孜不倦地投身到科研事業中，才有了今天的豐碩的物理學知識，我們才能站在巨人的肩膀上繼續攀登科學的頂峰。

In his life he was created the sciences of mechanics and hydrostatics. He discovered the laws of lever and pulley, which allow us to move heavy objects using small forces.Simply, it just like he dogged a hole at physics world so that people could living there.Almost 1,800 years later there is another greatest physicist born in the world. His name is Galileo. However, he was no content with living in the hole. So, he drew a place and planned a large physics building for future. And his whole life is to guide others build this building.

葉同學 Understand and Respect

第三位出場的是葉同學，他的演講圍繞著尊重和理解展開。于他而言，相互尊重和理解是人機交往的重要準則之一。他指出，我們的生活中總會有一些事情是不被理解的，不被別人尊重的。很多時候這種情況出現的原因是一方不夠了解另一方而盲目主觀臆斷，但往往事情的結果總是和你想象的不一樣。例如，在學習方面，父母不了解子女的學習狀況，他們只關心成績，不關心健康，因而有時父母的言辭可能會傷害到孩子的心靈。所以，他倡導我們要**換位思考，多站在別人的立場上考慮問題，多一份理解和*容。

Well, there are title about ‘what is understanding?’ for my angle, I think each person's interpretation of a thing may not be the same, because people have different feelings about this thing, understanding is determined by each person's brain analysis of things. If you want people to know what do you mean, you have to learn to communicate nicely. For example, at school, students should be friendly to each other between, do not curse, do not fight. How to understand others? Students exchange daily trifles with each other or talk to each other about recent event, effective communication channels can improve the level of understanding between students, greatly reducing the obstacles in learning. This is my view of understanding.

黃同學 Hip-hop Music

第四位出場的是黃同學，他的演講圍繞著Hip-hop音樂展開。他提及近幾年Hip-hop音樂變得越來越火，被大眾廣泛接受。但是，最早Hip-hop是由一群來自美國平民窟的美籍非洲人所創造，因為他們的社會地位十分低下，他們就通過這種音樂來發泄自己心中的不滿，因而一開始hip-hop并不是那么容易被主流接受的音樂。但是，一大批饒舌歌手們始終堅持著自己的夢想，最終通過自己的努力將hip-hop音樂帶向了大眾。

Nowadays, hip-hop music became more and more popular, the ancestors of hip-hop music were some African Americans from slum, they first use such way to release their social pressure and stress in their life, so people can not understood hip-hop music, but the rappers still insist, “ say life’s horrible, but mine’s movie”.

陳同學 Rowan Atkinson

第五位出場的是陳同學，她分享了一位著名的喜劇演員——羅溫·阿特金森，也就是大家非常熟悉的憨豆先生。他最開始因為略為奇特的外貌被人排擠，**不順，但他一直堅信天生我材必有用，直到他出演憨豆先生這個角色，憑借著夸張而搞笑的演技一舉成名，不僅《憨豆先生》系列戲劇風靡全球，他也成為了全世界人們心中永遠的喜劇大師。

Some people say that he is a Oxford master, but he has played a fool for a lifetime. He is Rowan Atkinson. He was born in 1955. At that time British teenager Atkinson, because of his gimmicks, clumsy and childish behavior, became the object of the students, and even the teachers were not willing to teach him. When he’s grown up and went to the society, could not find a job because of the embarrassing face and clumsy and childish manners. Atkinson, who was extremely inferior, hit the wall and was so upset that he was passively hiding in the room all day. But his mother told him: It is not that he is incompetent, but the season that suits him has not yet arrived. So Atkinson stood up from his mother's confidence in him.

最后，經過激烈的角逐，本場排名**是黃凱鑫同學。當然，其他幾位同學也取得了不錯的分數。截止到本場演講，所有參賽選手的成績均以出來，最終排名前八位的同學將有資格參與最后一場的競爭。最終花落誰家，我們拭目以待，下周終見分曉!
