探究課程的第五周和第六周，上海燎原雙語學校一年級的學生通過捐贈他們不再需要的玩具和泰迪熊來幫助別人，展示他們對社區成員如何互幫互助的理解。

For week 5 and 6 of the inquiry cycle, the grade 1 students are helping others by donating toys and teddies that they no longer need. The students are giving up something to show they understand how a community works together to help each other.

學生們看到了生病的孩子的照片，他們決定想一些能讓這些孩子微笑和快樂的好主意。在上海，有各種各樣的慈善機構幫助生病的孩子，我們選擇的是Heart 2 Heart。他們主要幫助心臟有問題的孩子。

The students saw images of sick children and they themselves thought it would be a good idea to give them something to make them smile and be happy. In Shanghai, there are various charities that help sick children and the one we chose was Heart 2 Heart. They help sick children with heart issues.

在過去的一周里，學生們都帶來了一兩件他們想捐贈的東西。今天，我們有幸請到Heart 2 Heart的代表講一講學生應該如何幫助社區。

Over the last week, students have been bringing one or two things that they wish to donate. Today, we were lucky to have a representative from Heart 2 Heart teaching the students what they should do to help the community by giving.

尼古拉小姐向學生們展示了他們能幫助的孩子的照片，并回答了學生關于去哪兒捐贈的問題以及幫助別人的意義。

Miss Nicola showed the students pictures of children they can help and answered the student’s question about where the donations would go and why it was important to help them.

我們將于11月23日也就是周四向該組織進行捐贈，物品將于下周送到生病的兒童手中。

We will send their donations to the organization on Thursday, 23rd of November and they will be delivered to sick children in need next week.

一年級的教學團隊被大家的慷慨所感動，我們很欣慰學生們懂得了回饋。我們同樣也要感謝家長在此期間對學校活動的支持。

The grade 1 teaching team is over-whelmed by the student’s generosity and we are grateful that they understand the power of giving back. We also wish to thank the parents for their support during this time.
