上海燎原雙語學校二年級剛剛過去的探究單元“世界如何運作”,我們的中心思想是地球和太陽產生的力影響我們的生活。

In the past UOI unit, our central Idea is The Earth and Sun have forces that affect our lives.

本單元是孩子們特別感興趣的探究單元——太陽系,在本單元中我們去探究了自然界及自然規律;自然界和人類社會的互動;人類是如何利用他們對科學原理的理解以及科技頸部對社會與環境的影響。

This unit is the solar system that children are particularly interested in. In this unit, we inquiry the nature and natural laws; the interaction between nature and human society; how human beings use their understanding of scientific principles and the impact of technological on society and environment.

How many mysteries does our solar system have in the vast universe? Let me inquiry

本單元小朋友暢游了太陽系,領略了八大行星及日食月食的風采,學習了地球公轉及自轉的相關知識,了解了雷電風雨的成因原理等,學中玩,玩中樂,樂中學

In this unit, the children have a good tour of the solar system, have a taste of the eight planets and their eclipses, have learned the relevant knowledge of the earth's revolution and rotation, have understood the causes and principles of thunderstorm and rain, have fun in learning, have fun in playing.

宇宙能引起兒童強烈的好奇與無限的遐想。遙遠的星體或者具有空間思維的天文現象對小學生來說很遙遠,但每個孩子似乎都喜歡凝視著曼妙的宇宙靜靜地思考。

The universe can arouse children's strong curiosity and infinite reverie. Distant stars or astronomical phenomena with space thinking are far away for primary school students, but every child seems to like to stare at the wonderful universe and think quietly.

學習天文知識,需要運用到學生的觀察能力、判斷能力、假設能力、空間思維能力等幫助學生在頭腦中建構起宏觀的宇宙概念。太陽和地球的運動也會引起季節的變化,我們在傳統的中國節氣中能更加直觀的感受到這種變化。

To learn astronomy knowledge, we need to apply it to students' observation ability, judgment ability, hypothesis ability, space thinking ability and so on to help students construct a macro concept of the universe in their mind. The movement of the sun and the earth will also cause seasonal changes, which we can feel more intuitively in the traditional Chinese solar terms.

世界如何運作

我們與數學學科相結合,探究地球自轉產生的時間差,學生們自己動手探究各式各樣的鐘:有制作各地時差鐘,有愛吃的水果可愛小動物的少女鐘,有給爸爸設計的定時喝水的水杯鐘,有和媽媽合作的蛋糕鐘。

We inquiry the time difference caused by the earth's rotation. Students inquiry all kinds of clocks by themselves: time difference clocks made in different places, clocks with cute animals, water cup clocks designed for Dad to drink water regularly, and cake clocks designed for cooperation with mom.

雖然疫情當下,居家學習物資條件不便,但是孩子們反而發揮了無窮的想象力和創造力,用家中可利用的材料去創造性地表達自己對本單元太陽系學習的理解。

In spite of the current epidemic situation and inconvenient materials for home-based learning, the children have exerted infinite imagination and creativity to creatively express their understanding of the solar system unit learning with the materials available at home.

在家宅著也沒閑著,為了了解清楚宇宙的奧秘,我們親自動手去了解日地月之間的關系,探究地球上出現的四季和晝夜現象,發現地球上的奇妙自然現象。

In order to understand the mysteries of the universe, we have to understand the relationship between the sun, the earth and the moon, explore the four seasons and the day and night phenomena on the earth, and discover the wonderful natural phenomena on the earth.

Grade 2 has been exploring the Solar System in our most recent unit of inquiry. We started from the universe and zoomed in through our galaxy, the Milky Way, and then into our Solar System. We focused on the Earth, Sun and Moon. We looked at how day and night and the seasons happen; we investigated the moon phases and tides and looked at the force of gravity.

We made shadow puppets when we were learning about the sun. This is a mother dog and a baby dog.

We looked at non-chronological reports in English and wrote some of our own about the moon.

We loved learning about the moon phases, and making Oreo models of the moon’s phases.

We carried out experiments to test the effects of gravity. Do you think a heavier or a lighter object would hit the ground first?

We showed our understanding of space travel. We made rockets using bottles and other materials we found in our homes.

我們通過制作3D圖紙來展示對地球不同層次的理解。

We showed understanding of the different layers of the Earth by making 3D paper diagrams.

我們想象著沒有重力的生活會是什么樣子!

We thought about what life would look like without gravity!

宇宙和太陽系,有著孩子們的無窮幻想。疫情期間有限的材料反而激發了無限想象力,每一個獨具匠心的設計中都展現著孩子的概念理解和多元表達,讓我們跟著孩子的步伐去探索世界吧!敬請期待下一個單元:過去!
