一場精彩的角逐，一次自信的“拼”搏，上海常青藤小學**屆單詞拼寫大賽在激烈與歡快的氣氛中圓滿落幕了。

日月累積，一日鏖戰，在全校師生的全力支持和參與中，常青藤小學部一至四年級的孩子們不僅收獲了大量的英文詞匯與自然拼讀技能，也鍛煉了上臺嶄露頭角的過硬心理和大膽展現自我的勇氣。

For the first time in Shanghai Ivy’s history, our students and teachers have all joined in together to participate in the First Annual Shanghai Ivy Spelling bee. A spelling bee is a great way for students to practice their phonics skills, studying ability, and practice expanding their vocabularies.

上海常青藤小學**屆單詞拼寫大賽

按照規則，同年級的參賽者們同臺競技。每個班單詞競賽的前三名將晉級到最終比賽中，再一決高下。

Students from each year group competed against one another by taking a spelling test. The top 3 students from each class moved onto the final Friday competition, where they competed in a group of 12 to see who had the best spelling ability in their year.

當一位位小選手們神采飛揚地走向舞臺中央，他們看上去那么神色專注、胸有成竹。裁判老師隨機給出單詞的那一刻，似箭在弦，有的隨即脫口而出，有的鎖眉努力回想......

The competition was very fierce, with students taking turns spelling out the words given by the judges one by one.

每位選手有三次試錯的機會，超過后則需先行離場。

Students were given 3 chances to spell the words correctly, after which they would be eliminated from the competition.

因為小選手們都是有備而來，所以首輪比賽中一度出現相持不下的局面;之后幾輪隨著試錯機會慢慢用盡，差距慢慢拉開，最終3名選手脫穎而出，進入決勝局。但無論小選手們晉級與否，寫在他們臉上的努力和拼搏，早已證明了他們是**的!

Each of the year groups faced stiff competition, going through the majority of the spelling word lists. One by one, students began to run out of chances and began to be eliminated from the Spelling Bee leaving only the top 3 students.

磨刀千日，臨陣不懼，當最后三名小選手站在決賽的舞臺上時，全場師生都屏住了呼吸——這一次是否仲伯難分?我們班的選手能不能闖關到最后?會不會有劇情反轉?

These students then competed against one another to see who would take home 1st 2nd and 3rd place of the spelling bee.

當小選手們拼盡全力勇奪桂冠后，全體老師為參賽選手們表示由衷的祝賀!英雄不論成敗，你們都是充滿智慧和勇于進取的孩子，因為你們都盡力在做比較好的自己!

我們也為獲勝小選手們歡呼!你們在臺上的從容不迫和永不言棄的表現，證明了你們穩扎穩打的單詞拼寫實力、對語言學習的無限熱情，以及不負辛勤備戰的那股沖勁。

The English teachers want to congratulate everyone who competed in our final competition. All of the students who participated, regardless of whether or not they won, are still some of the top talent the school has to offer, and can hold their head high knowing they all tried their best. All of the teachers from Shanghai Ivy want to congratulate the winners from each of the year groups who stayed calm in front of their peers and teachers, and managed to take home a medal showing their spelling prowess.
