夢想是什么?是對美好未來的憧憬，是前進路途的明燈，是人生寶貴的財富。蘇格拉底曾言“世界上最快樂的事，莫過于為理想而奮斗”。大千世界，蕓蕓眾生，每個人都在堅持不懈地追逐著自己的夢想。光華美高本期演講將圍繞著“長大后你想做什么”這個話題展開，大家紛紛自身的經(jīng)歷，在臺上暢談夢想。

光華美高順利舉行第二屆英語公眾演講

本場**位選手吳同學(xué)的夢想是成為一名探險家。六年級的地理課勾起了他對世界的好奇，豐富的地理知識在他心中悄悄地埋下了冒險的種子。麥哲倫從南美洲的西班牙出發(fā)，穿越太平洋完成了人類初次環(huán)球航行;人類**次登上月球發(fā)現(xiàn)了很多新奇的物質(zhì)，這是多么了不起的探險。在他看來，宇宙充滿了很多未知，應(yīng)該有更多的人去探索發(fā)現(xiàn)其中的奧秘。

Nature cannot accurately predict, and the power of nature is infinite. We humans should Revere nature, protect them, discover out what nature is,and help human improve them self.

第二位選手王同學(xué)先回憶了小時候父母提出的問題，引出兩個概念：天生的優(yōu)勢和難以實現(xiàn)的目標(biāo)，表明一個人將來想做什么不能只看到自己的空想，而要看重天生的優(yōu)勢和后天的努力。之后他分析了自己的情況并闡明想做一名商人的意向，并以中國古代文學(xué)家“三蘇”成功的實例來說明成功的條件除了充分發(fā)揮天賦的作用外，個人后天的努力也是必不可少的。

Before I start to talk about what do I want to do when I grow up, let’s cast our mind back to the period during our kindergarten. Do you still remember someone asked you what do you want to do when you grow up? At that time, you might answer I wanted to be an astronaut, a scientist, a boss or something. But how many people can reach the goal which started from a child to an adult? I think the previous thing l said are all fantasies. Do you agree with me? Furthermore, do you think you have the capacity or the qualification to undertake the job? The words I said maybe a little wounding, but that’s real.

第三位選手虞同學(xué)的夢想是長大后做一名特許金融分析師，在演講中他提到了培養(yǎng)興趣和堅持付出對于實現(xiàn)目標(biāo)有著不可忽視的作用。有志者，事竟成，相信每一個勇敢追夢的少年都可以心想事成。

My aim is to be a Chartered Financial Analyst. The abbreviation of that is CFA. It is the most rigorous and high qualified certificate in the global investment industry. It is called the global “financial first exam”. It sets the norms and standards for the global investment industry in terms of ethics, professional standards and knowledge systems.

第四位選手鄭同學(xué)的理想是成為一名歷史學(xué)家，但是同時他又有非常多的困惑，比如金錢、地位與家庭。很多時候，我們面臨著舍與得的選擇，如何平衡二者也是一門修養(yǎng)和學(xué)問，因此在演講中他分享了自己如何最后依舊選擇了自己最喜歡做的事情而沒有被金錢所牽絆的經(jīng)歷。

I can still remember when I was in kindergarten, I dreamed of very different jobs–astronaut, pilot, soldier, entrepreneur, and so on, like other children at that age. But, in the present age, when I think about life or what I will do in the future, I become more realistic than before. I begin to consider money, status, and family. Alan watts said that if getting the money is the most important thing, we will spend our life completely wasting our time. We 'll be doing things we don't like doing, to go on living is to go on doing things we don't like doing, which is STUPID! I was very pleased to hear this passage from him because it changes my view of life, which influenced me and eventually made me want to study history or become a historian.

第五位選手葉同學(xué)認為人類要想在21世紀(jì)生存下去，必須追溯到2500年前，吸取孔子、亞里士多德、柏拉圖的智慧。我們需要廣泛學(xué)習(xí)，從自然科學(xué)中找到人與自然和諧相處的道路，從社會科學(xué)中總結(jié)出人類社會運行的規(guī)律，尋找可持續(xù)發(fā)展之路，從思維科學(xué)中尋找人類精神的家園。

To me I deeply believe that If human beings want to survive in the 21st century, they must go back 2500 years to absorb the wisdom of Confucius，Aristotle, Plato.Yes, we need to learn extensively, find the way of harmony between man and nature from natural science, summarize the law of human society operation from social history science, find the way of sustainable development, and find the home of human spirit from thinking science.I remember what Aristotle said: "wisdom is not only in knowledge, but also in the ability to use it." "For virtue, it is not enough for us only to know it. We must also try to cultivate it, use it, or adopt various methods to make us good people."

第六位選手陳同學(xué)認為一提及夢想，很多人也許有些茫然，但每個人終究有自己最想做的事情。于他而言，主持人就是一個大膽的挑戰(zhàn)。一位優(yōu)秀的主持人需要具備編輯、主持、才藝和控場等多種技能。具體來說，不僅要擁有廣博的知識和優(yōu)秀的語言水平，而且應(yīng)具有隨機應(yīng)變和組織規(guī)劃的能力。找到自己的目標(biāo)，為之去拼搏，去奮斗，夢想之花終有一日會絢爛綻放。

Technically speaking, a host refers to the people who have the variety of business capabilities such as mining, editing, broadcasting, and control. They need to have the 1.A wide range of knowledge;2.Excellent language proficiency;3.They should have a certain on-the-spot response and the ability to improvise;4. Planning and organizing skills;5.with a distinctive personalities of the host style. Most people have your own target, working hard and I believe you will achieve it!

第七位選手王同學(xué)開場就提及今天的主題是“我長大后想做什么”，但他更喜歡把它理解為“我以后要選什么樣的職業(yè)”。大家在小時候可能都有過一大堆夢想，比如說當(dāng)飛行員，當(dāng)宇航員或者當(dāng)醫(yī)生等等，但我們長大后往往就改變了志向。在成長的過程中，我們逐漸了解了這些職業(yè)的辛苦，也逐漸找到了自己真正想要從事的領(lǐng)域。有些夢想值得堅守，有些夢想可以改變，無論無何，最重要的是你在這世上做了什么和你在這世上留下了什么。

Topic for today is ‘What do I want to do when I grow up’. Actually, I was quite confused when I saw this topic for the first time because I am not so sure about what I’m gonna do when I grow up. Therefore, I’d love to interpret it as ‘what would be your future job’. Everyone of us has tons of dreams when we are kids. Being pilots to fly airplanes, being astronauts to control the spacecraft and find new planets for human. Being doctors to do surgeries and help patients to become healthy again. However, everything changes after we are grown up. While we were growing up, we learned the difficulties of becoming the person we once expected and achieving the goals we set when we were young. You have to be trained for a long while without being eliminated. You have to learn abundant things about astronomy and piloting a spacecraft. You still have to learn and read thousands of books and train for hundreds of thousands of times to do the surgery. We get afraid when we hear these.
