11月6日，光華美高迎來了本學期第六場英語公眾演講活動。本期的選手一共有八位學生，大家同臺競技，紛紛用盡渾身解數，在臺上一較高下。

李同學

**位選手李同學分享了一個人在團隊的鼓勵下歷經挫折終有所獲的案例，啟發大家遇事不要輕言放棄，個體或許是渺小的，但團隊的力量是無窮的。眾人拾柴火焰高，個人可以在團體中發掘無限的潛能。

The wild wind roared along, rolling up the sand. The team walked on the endless desert. They represented the glory of Fudan EMBA. She was in good shape for the first three days, but on the fourth day, after continuous high-intensity running, she was exhausted. Sand slapped on her face blocking her vision, her feet felt heavy as if they were chained. She breathed rapidly but still felt choke. What’s worse, her water bag was empty. She couldn't advance anymore. Then a silhouette appeared---Master Xuanzang, who traveled 800km through this desert to seek Buddhism, deliver speeches and translate documents. Her captain shared water with her. If Xuanzang could do it alone, why couldn’t she persist to last with her team?she strove to run til the end of 121km.

陳同學

第二位選手陳同學講述了一個好的logo對于公司發展的重要性。他認為每個公司都需要logo，一個的logo會給客戶留下深刻的印象。此外，制作logo的過程也是一個思考的過程，人們在不斷嘗試和改進中最終設計出的logo，這也是非常有意義和價值的。

From these examples, we can find out that a good logo needs much time and energy. Every company needs logo, and a perfect logo will make customers have deep impressions that everyone can remember it. What’s more, how people make logo is also a process of thinking that they need to keep trying and do the best. Anyway, it’s very meaningful and valuable.3

陳同學

第三位選手陳同學圍繞著環境問題展開演講。她以蘋果公司的產品為例，說明當代社會電子產品的大量使用對環境造成的方方面面的危害，倡導大家要具有環保意識，倡導社會的可持續發展。

And to be honest, if there still have new users to buy apple’s new phone, the user purchase headphones, charging, the charging of the package is likely to cause more serious environmental pollution, the pollution is not only the damage including packing of trees, also include such things as the transportation, exhaust pollution gas emissions form large trucks, such as carbon dioxide. For apple this kind of behavior, let a lot of mobile phone manufacturers to make a ridicule. Like Xiaomi and Samsung phones. While apple has been ridiculed, the company also has benefited.4

盧同學

第四位選手盧同學分享了一個有趣的心理學效應——墨菲定律。所謂的墨菲定律就是如果你擔心某件事會發生，它就更有可能發生，每件事的時間都會比你預期的要長。在這種情況下，消極心態會對人們的行為產生不良影響。要想打破這種“詛咒”，人們必須以積極的態度面對生活。

To sum up:If you are worried that something will happen, it is more likely to happen.Nothing is simple as it seems.Everything will be longer than you expected.In this case, there is a certain basis is psychology:negative mentality will have a bad effect on people’s behavior, just like the Fluke mind.Therefor, people tend to ignore the consequences, which in reality are often as bad as Murphy’s Law predicts. To break the ‘curse’ of Murphy’s law, people have to face life with positive attitudes. It reminds us that all of us make mistakes, which we should accept and correct with ease.5

第五位選手譚同學分享了一些與宗教相關的故事。曾經有一段時間，人們認為成年人是邪惡的，只有純潔的孩子才能為他們收回圣地。因此，30000名法國和德國兒童在一名牧師的陪同下前往耶路撒冷，以收復圣地。他們中的大多數人在途中死亡，其余的人被賣給埃及這樣的國家作為奴隸。

At that time, people believed that adults were evil, only pure children could take back the holy land for them. Therefore, 30000 French and German children, accompanied by a priest, went to Jerusalem, in order to recover the holy land.What a terrifying thing, isn’t it? You can imagine that let a group of children who can't even hold their weapons, away from their hometown and go to Jerusalem. It's no different from killing them.Therefore most of them died on the way, and the rest were sold to countries like Egypt as slaves.6

第六位選手來同學分享了食品安全的問題。在日常生活中，大家都愛吃油炸食品，雖然好吃但非常不健康。很多不良商家甚至用地溝油烹飪食品，因而很多人變得越來越肥胖，健康情況堪憂。面對這種情況，我們要有意識地控制自己的飲食種類，**身體健康。

Hello everyone!Today my topic is about what will oil cause to our health.Look, people always like to eat fired food, such as fired chicken, fired potatoes, hot dogs and so on. It is delicious, but, do these things good to our physical health?What you guys don’t know is that there are a lot of companies use illegal oil because it will decrease their cost on original materials. Look at this, this is illegal oil, so disgusting right?As the ppt pptthe results of eating food with illegal oil are not only make us fatter and fatter, but also are indigestion, headache, diarrhoea or even gastric cancer.Now let’s see this table, it shows a normal people’s basal metabolic rate in certain ages. Do you reached the standard?Advise: at last, I want to give you an advice: Do not eat in restuarant which have food with too much oil. It will make us fat and bring illness to us.7

第七位選手狄同學認為作為一個獨立個體，任何時候你有一個目標，都需要付諸行動。在理想情況下，在你真正完成**之前，你不會感到滿意。但是當你告訴別人你的目標并得到他人的認可時，你會覺得你已經成功了。心理學家將這個有趣的現象稱為“社會現實”。

Any time you have a goal, there are some work that needs to be done in order to achieve it. Ideally, you would not be satisfied until you had actually done the work. But when you tell someone your goal and they acknowledge it, you will feel like you have done it successfully. Psychologists have found that it’s called a “social reality. The mind is kind of tricked into feeling that it’s already done. And then, because you felt that satisfaction, you’re less motivated to do that actual hard work necessary.

第八位選手尹同學認為任何一個人的成功都離不開自身的努力和他人的支持。很多時候，周圍人只看到你光鮮亮麗的一面，但只有自己知道背后的付出的時間和汗水，以及老師的幫助和家長的支持。一個人是無法僅僅依賴運氣而隨隨便成功的，因為成功只降臨在有準備的人和得到支持的人身上。

Just like the girl group dance, you are the audience, and you can see the glorious surface. But the efforts behind is something I would only know myself. Maybe in the future, all of us will get a high degree of education and get the recognition of many people. But behind it, we cannot disregard our teachers' help and parents' support. It also takes money, time, and effort. You can’t solely rely on luck to succeed. Success only comes to those who are prepared and those who are supported. Remember: always be grateful. At last, no pain, no gain. This is Crane.
