上海燎原國(guó)際高中學(xué)生“世界學(xué)生不同學(xué)習(xí)風(fēng)格”公開(kāi)課感想

My Impressions of the Lecture 11-2 Yangyang

Last Thursday, our school welcomed two experienced and professional teachers, who gave us a lecture. Daryl and Angela are teachers from Australia and have been working with international students for many years. Thus, they are familiar with the problems that we international students may face when we go abroad. They raised issues on the differences of culture between the west and the east and explained these in detail to us.

上周四，我們學(xué)校迎來(lái)了兩位有經(jīng)驗(yàn)的專業(yè)教師。他們是來(lái)自澳大利亞的Daryl和Angela，多年來(lái)與留學(xué)生打交道。所以對(duì)于一些我們燎原學(xué)生會(huì)面臨的問(wèn)題，他們十分熟悉，他們?cè)谶@次演講中著重提出在我們?cè)趪?guó)外求學(xué)時(shí)文化差異會(huì)帶來(lái)的問(wèn)題。

We all know that the culture diversity can sometimes lead to trouble in daily life when we move in a foreign country. We may find it harder to understand and make friends. How can we deal with that? Daryl stressed Social Conscience, which is an important quality that international students should have. We should be curious, and be brave enough to ask; we should be diligent, as not everything is hard if you try your best; we should be honest and sincere, as these are basic qualities for making friends.

我們都知道文化的不同會(huì)在日常生活中多少造成不便，我們也許會(huì)更難理解西方人的言行，這樣和他們交朋友會(huì)有困難。Daryl先生為我們講解了一個(gè)論題，社會(huì)察覺(jué)能力，這是國(guó)際學(xué)生必須具備的一個(gè)能力。我們?cè)谌粘Ｉ钪行枰獙?duì)周?chē)鷳延懈兄Ｎ覀儠?huì)對(duì)西方世界的不同產(chǎn)生好奇感，這種情況下我們要勇于提問(wèn)。同時(shí)在學(xué)習(xí)中我們要勤奮努力;在與人交往中我們要真誠(chéng)而誠(chéng)信。上述都是我們?cè)诹魧W(xué)時(shí)需要有的基本素養(yǎng)。

Then Angela showed us how these things can be difficult. We Chinese might be more spontaneous than Westerners; maybe we put less emphasis on rules and restrictions. This is maybe the largest difference compared to western people. They are generally punctual, direct and independent. I think we have lots of things to learn about the West.

接著Angela女士為我們具體講解了西方人和我們的一些不同。中國(guó)人也許更為隨性，對(duì)一些規(guī)則沒(méi)那么重視。而這也是西方人與我們**的不同，此外，西方人非常準(zhǔn)時(shí)，他們也非常直接，面對(duì)問(wèn)題時(shí)直入重點(diǎn)。我想我們有很多需要適應(yīng)和學(xué)習(xí)的地方。

“It can be hard to mingle in this different culture,” Daryl concluded. “But you guys can experience it and enjoy it only if you are active and aren’t afraid to make mistakes.”

最后Daryl女士總結(jié)說(shuō)，留學(xué)生的融入也許真的很難，也許我們可以不強(qiáng)求這一點(diǎn)。但如果我們每個(gè)人都積極地去學(xué)習(xí)并改變自己，這種經(jīng)歷的體會(huì)才是留學(xué)的真正目的。

I enjoyed their speech, which answered many of my questions about becoming a international student. By the way, their Australian accent was cute. A little bit hard to understand, but I could get the meaning. I also appreciated the way Angela encouraged us, and Daryl’s game where we could all clap our hands together.

他們的講座十分精彩，也解決了很多我對(duì)留學(xué)生活的疑問(wèn)。順帶一提，Daryl和Angela的澳大利亞口語(yǔ)聽(tīng)起來(lái)略費(fèi)勁，不過(guò)總體來(lái)說(shuō)我還是OK的。而且Daryl的鼓掌游戲sooo有趣。
